Engine Test Stand

Aston Martin Heritage is using modern Test Stand for historical cars

When talking on classic cars anybody who is thinking only on greasy fingers and romatic workshops in the style of the 50s is wrong. The internationally well known Aston Martin-Heritage Specialist Roos Engineering (www.roosengineering.ch), in Safenwil/Switzerland, uses the most recent Test Stand technology made in Germany for engines. The Test Stand was developed basing on the specification book from Roos Engineering Ltd.

Even in the historical automotive engineering a Test Stand has important functions, according to Beat Roos: "In most of the cases engines can show their proof of reliability only when fully assembled in the cars and in the hands of the customers. Our purpose is to work through running-in cycles under active monitoring, and hand over to our customers a verifiable certified engine." After realising the running-in and test cycles, we can be sure, that the engines, which were partly revised and upgraded with immense efforts, will work perfectly. Also the power values and exhaust gas data can be optimised.

The Test Stand is able to test all Aston Martin engines from every era with only a few adaptations - not only four to six-cylinder engines with multiple carburettors, but also eight or twelve cylinder engines with injection systems. Not to forget the turbo and supercharged engines, which can be tested as well. Measurement devices, media supply and all important analysis interfaces are in place.

Technical data:
up to 470 KW and 1.000 Nm, engine rotation speed up to 9.000 rpm

With this equipment the Test Stand is predestinated for testing the most demanding power units from every car manufacturer; corresponding services are offered from Roos Engineering.
